We are forever grateful for the kind testimonials and letters of gratitude that we have received from our residents and their families over the years at Carefree. Below is a sampling of the correspondence we have received:
Dear Caregivers of Carefree,
Each of you are doing the work you were born to do. Your caring, respect and genuine love for each person at Carefree is very evident to anyone who watches & listens to the daily routine. Each of you makes everyone feel safe and a member of the "Family" of Carefree.
I thank you for your loving care you gave my father, John. You will all be a part of my family forever.

To all at Carefree,
I moved my mother Florence to Carefree Assisted Living Center this past July, 2015. Prior to moving to an assisted living setting, Mom lived with my husband and me for 15 years, the last 5 of which her health declined significantly and her care needs grew. When the time came that we could no longer care for Mom at home I was a pretty worn ‘daughter/caregiver’ with admittedly high anxiety and trepidation about moving my mother out of our home to a care facility. After having my mother in nursing care for one month and a larger assisted living facility for 5 months our goal became to find a smaller more intimate and less complex care environment that: maintained a high level care with a good caregiver to resident ratio; had low staff turnover; was set up to accommodate individualized care needs.
CareFree has truly been an answer to our prayers. My mother has settled in well there and I have peace of mind that she is safe and well cared for. I give CareFree high marks across the board. The building, rooms and grounds are attractive, peaceful and homelike. CareFree is exceptionally clean and well kept. It is well managed, and the care team there is without exception pleasant, professional, compassionate, experienced and skilled. Together CareFree’s physical set up, management and staff provide a warm, supportive and loving environment for residents, family and visitors. I can honestly say that our care goals for Mom have been met at CareFree. My stress level has gone way down and my trust level has soared.

Mom was very hesitant at first. She had so much fear and anxiety, I was very concerned. The staff turned her entire attitude around and we could not be happier with her care. Everyone is top notch!

To everyone at Carefree Assisted Living... Thank You
For all of your loving care & kindness shown to Pete and his family during his recent stay with you - we can't begin to show our gratitude for all you did. There is so much love in your facility. There could be no better place for our dear dad & husband to spend his last days. You all are the best!

Dear Gary,
My mother, Phyllis Reyher, has been a resident at Carefree Assisted Living Center for several years. The new ownership has been a serious upgrade in care for my mother. One change that has improved safety and convenience is the remote call medallions, which provides faster assistance, especially in restrooms. The new decor has given the multipurpose room a friendly and welcoming atmosphere.
Several of the staff members are truly exemplary in their care and service to my mother. Most notably, Arturo is professional and gentle and Alan is caring and positive in all interactions with my mother and me. Carol handles any concerns with efficiency and a high level of concern for the well-being of all concerned.
I appreciate the feeling of "family" when I walk into the facility and interact with the staff. I feel confident my mother is not only being well cared for on a daily basis, but is treated with respect and kindness.
Sincerely,
Sherri Kessel
To the Directors and Staff of Carefree,
I wanted to take this opportunity to complement you and your staff on the wonderful home you have created for those in need of your assistance. Carefree is truly the best facility I have ever seen of its kind. As a physical therapist, I have seen many facilities, though none as caring and clean as Carefree.
Last year, I had the opportunity to visit Carefree as a friend’s mother made her transition from this world. The staff was so caring and nurturing, not only to my friend’s mother but to my friend and me during a difficult time. Each caregiver and nurse that entered the room showed their genuine care and love, sometimes with tears in their eyes.
For these reasons, and so many more, Judy O’Higgins and I are so excited to have you in our Send Out Cards team.
As caregivers, you are never acknowledged enough. Being able to touch with your hearts as well as your hands, takes a very special kind of person. I have never regretted choosing Carefree, for in all the time my mom spent with you, I know she was treated with kindness and respect - for this, I am forever grateful.
After witnessing a continuous flow of staff members coming into her room to say goodbye, I was so very touched, and I realized something that I hadn't understood before - that she had become "family" to you. Thank you for your love and care, and for honoring her as you might your own family member.
Love and blessings to you all,
Patty
To the staff at Carefree,
Words cannot express my appreciation for all the care you gave to my dad, Joseph . You all made his stay comfortable and pleasant. Other than home, it was the best place for him to be. You are all very caring and compassionate and I really appreciate all you did for my father. You are all angels.
Thank you all again. Peace and love,
Linda
Ps: Carol your staff is great.
“My mother has been a resident at Carefree Assisted Living for 3 years. The staff has become like members of our family, with care and companionship she receives 24/7. I feel blessed every day that we have found such a wonderful facility.” –

To the Staff of Carefree,
Old age, dementia, Alzheimers (not necessarily in that order) have a way of sneaking up on you. For my Mom it was a slow progression that we imagined we could handle every step of the way. We couldn’t.
After years of caring for at home, Carefree has taken over tasks that I could no longer handle. She is happy, engaged, safe. Incredible caregivers round the clock in a “just the right size” facility. So much kindness and genuine concern for her well being. She is blessed to live here. I can’t thank you enough for giving me the opportunity to love my Mom again.
Sincerely,
Connie Townsend
I would like to thank Carefree Assisted Living Center for being such a special place. The staff is like family and they provide loving care and kindness for the residents each and everyday. I would recommend Carefree to anyone with a need for a facility to place a loved one.
I want to thank you all so very much for helping Don Rice celebrate his birthday in such a wonderful way. He told me how you all came in and sang and wished him Happy Birthday and how Sandra brought him Chinese food from his favorite restaurant and pumpkin pie too!
Don was so happy and pleased and got pretty emotional when he told me how wonderful you guys were. I am so happy Don is with you all at Carefree. You guys take such great care of him and I know even though he is in declining health, Don really enjoys all the love and attention you give him.
I cannot thank you enough and I know his brother Robert and his wife Susie in San Diego plus Don’s nephew KP, appreciate all the kindness and thoughtfulness you have given to Don. In fact, I am also sending this email to them so they know all about the sweet birthday surprise he got from all of you wonderful people at Carefree.
I would like to thank Carefree Assisted Living Center for being such a special place. The staff is like family and they provide loving care and kindness for the residents each and everyday. I would recommend Carefree to anyone with a need for a facility to place a loved one.

The day I settled Mom into her room at Carefree Assisted Living Center I breathed easier because I saw that she was already being well-cared for.
More than two years later, I am still breathing easier knowing the staff--from the accommodating cooks to the caregivers with heart--loves Mom and doesn't shy away from tending to the details that keep her comfortable and content. If you're looking for a new home for a loved one, especially a homey facility with directed care available, I encourage you to consider Carefree.

Dear Gary and Lisa,
It’s been such a blessing for our family to have our Mom at Carefree Assisted Living Center. It’s not owned by some out-of-state big corporation, but by yourselves – two loving, concerned owners who take a personal interest in all your
residents.
Because your facility is cozy, smaller in size and homey, the staff takes a personal interest in each person – and knowing their needs. They treat each person with compassion and patient loving care. Oh, how our family appreciates every one of you.
We were no longer able to take care for our Mom at home and we as a family we couldn’t have found a better “fit”. We appreciate you, your facility and staff more than you will ever know.
Sincerely,
Velvet Moore
To staff and management of Carefree Assisted Living.
My family and I would like to express our gratitude and appreciation for the loving care you all showed our grandmother, Jennie, over the last two years.
Each time my family called or visited your facility, we always found our grandmother surrounded by loving and caring professionals. She spoke highly of each of you, and it was a great peace of mind for our family to know that she was always in caring and loving hands.

Dear friends at Carefree,
We just wanted to let you know how much our family appreciates all that you do to care for our mother Phyllis. The bright cheery atmosphere, the professional staff and the comforting care all serve to make Carefree a more enjoyable experience. Phyllis especially enjoys all the planned activities.
Keep up the good work!

To the Staff of Carefree,
One of the most difficult things one might do in their lifetime is having to place a family member, a loved one into an assisted living home. The choices can be vast and very emotional. Questions will be many and they are all justifiable.
I started looking for my friend Carol early spring, 2015. When we walked into Carefree Assisted Living, Carol's very first words were “This is what I want”. It was late morning and there was activity all around. Carol Dexter helped us at that time, showing us rooms and answering questions we had. Being the very skeptical person I am because of past experiences with this, I suggested to my friend to wait and see.
So we, better said I, waited to see. I became very pleased. At anytime I stopped in to look, it was always the same. Employees working, smiling, speaking to the residents. Carol Dexter was endless in her quest to be helpful but never over bearing. She seemed to know when to be by my side and when to leave me with my thoughts. I had so many questions, some of which I asked more than once at different occasions. I was checking if the answers were the same each time and yes they were. I at no time felt pressured to sign my friend into Carefree Assisted Living Center. It was close to six (6) months before my friend was signed into her new living home. Carol Dexter kept in contact with me this entire time as I made sure my friend was truly ready in her mind to move. Never during this waiting period did I feel pressured by anyone at Carefree Assisted Living Center. I can never seem to “sing enough praises” for Carefree Assisted Living.
Thank you for being here and for being you.

I can't begin to tell you how much I thank you, each of you, for the wonderful care each of you have given to my Mother. It has been a pleasure to have had my Mom live with you at Carefree and we will never forget your kindness and loving care.

Dear Gary and Lisa,
We wanted to express our gratitude for having you both as Carefree in our lives. What a blessing it is to have you both supporting Mova and the people who need help now.
Connie especially (... and me too) are so happy and calmed by your solid performance and the staff's dedicated work towards the welfare of her mom.
We are both satisfied and thankful for the talent you both have shown in choosing the kind, loving, educated and professional people you have under you. (Monique is so special to those in your care, to her co-workers and clients ... we are grateful for her).
Just watching the staff (at the different times we are here) - we know we would be safe because of their confidence. We are impressed by the building too, and know it's because of the effort (and your money) you put into it to make it beautiful and calming for the residents.
We know that Carefree Assisted Living exists because of the unconditional love and compassion that you both provide!! And we know that the same is true for all the good staff members who cover the shifts.
Thank you Gary, for all you do!
Thank you Lisa, for all you do!
Thank you team members, for all you do!
May God bless all of you and keep you in a special place in his heart!
All our love,

My family and I highly recommend Carefree Assisted Living. Everything is perfectly established for quality care, the staff are competent and attentive and the food/chef is excellent. Both Carol and Gary are approachable to any of our needs and my Dad's care was exemplary; gentle and loving throughout each phase of his illness. Thank you to all the angels at Carefree!

Dear Gary and Carefree Staff,
It is difficult to find the words to express the gratitude we feel for the wonderful care, kindness and patience you provided my mother, Adela during her stay at Carefree. It takes very special individuals to do what you do every day. Gary and Lisa have been truly blessed to find such a special group of people. The residents at Carefree speak very highly of the staff. Several residents told me how lucky they were to have found such a wonderful place. My mother’s roommate, Elaine often told me about the care and attention my mother received at night from the evening team members.
The staff at Carefree also provides much needed support and kind words to family members during stressful, difficult times. The day my mother passed, staff members stopped by the room to comfort us and let us know that her passing was very peaceful.
Please let Monique, Arturo, Sandra, Jessica, and all the wonderful staff at Carefree know that we are very thankful for everything they did for my mother and consider ourselves very lucky to have met such compassionate, kind people.
Sincerely,
Lourdes Hayes

Dear Gary, Lisa and our friends at Carefree,
WE again wish to extend our appreciation to you all for taking such good care of Mova (and really for the of all "guys" and "girls" there as well)
We know that she is happy and at home, especially in the large living room and out in the courtyard ("my piece of heaven". She never misses to tell us how she loves the lights on the palm trees).
We can never thank you enough for the love and care you give to Mova and her friends!
All our best,
John and Connie

Dear Carefree Staff,
Words cannot express how grateful my family and I are for all that you did for my Dad, John Newhall. Carefree became truly his home and family for him. He got to the point where he had no desire to even briefly leave Carefree. He was proud to call Carefree his "home".
Every member of the staff at Carefree demonstrated a loving and caring attitude towards my Dad and myself. I too became attached to the Carefree staff and the residents. Thank you, Thank you for creating such a loving atmosphere for my Dad!
